Chemical Seal Ring

Chemical seal ring is a material typically used in shaft liners to prevent aqueous fluids from migrating from one zone to the next.  The material is placed as a slurry, and hardens into a material similar to a natural rubber.  Once the cured chemical seal comes in contact with water or brine, it then swells, which prevents fluid migration past it.  This swelling action creates an effective seal or gasket even at elevated pressures.
